Unit 15 3rd rifle

Hey I am 16 and decided to put in for Colorado this year with my little brothers. We decided that we wanted to hunt 3rd season and found a unit that we could draw. Ended up with tags in 15. I know that it is definitely not a super great unit. But would love any tips or suggestions on what to do.
I have E-Scouted quite a bit but have not put boots on the ground yet. We are non residents.
We plan on staying in our enclosed trailer so we ca be mobile if needed.
We are definitely willing to hike as far as we need and do have the option bringing horses if it would be useful.

There's some good stuff to hunt along the south end of the unit. State Bridge area and to the north and east. Sage brush, aspens and pines.

Also is it worth buying a 3rd season elk tag?

There are bulls in the unit, so I suppose it's possible you might see some. I wouldn't buy an elk tag, but I'd be content just focusing on the deer hunting.
