Good vehicles..

This...not my thing.

My first vehicle was a 1974 Scout, straight 6 4 speed. I paid $900 for it. I loved that thing.
These are way different -but having 35s a solid rear axle with locking differentials will be as good as it gets in 2027 coming from Volkswagen. Would be much better as a Hybrid or PHEV. The days of just gas engines are few for anything coming from Volkswagen.

All the running around trying to re-invent the freaking wheel on all of these vehicles.

Entry models at $51,000 lol

Good hell.... Can't someone just come out with a truck that costs about 20-35K? Just a basic bare bones truck. Don't need no AC blowing up my a$$ crack and leather seats. Just a freaking affordable 4x4 truck that drives and lasts 150,000-200,000 miles.

The first vehicle I used to ride in up to the mountains to deer hunt with my dad when I was very young was a bright orange 1970s International Scout. A lot of core memories tied to that rig.

I’ve never paid much attention to electric vehicles, but by golly, the nostalgia of that sure makes me want to try one of these out.

My only experience with the old Scout was when my cousin and I went to visit our grandparents in Sonora, CA. back in the 60's. Grandpa had a Scout and grandma made him take us down this dirt road to the Tuolumne River to fish. He was against it, but grandma made him. He dropped us off at the river and was supposed to pick us up later that day. When he went to turn around, he backed into a stump and smashed the rear of the Scout. I'm surprised he came back later to pick us up. :)

Bet Gpa smashed gma's rear a time or two....I know, uncalled for but had to.

I think a truck that runs on electric, switches to gas (and charges the battery back up while driving) them goes back to electric once the battery is charged, would be incredible. Imagine driving 800 miles without needing any sort of "fill up"... that would be cool.
