aint going to happen for tags that take less than 5 points to draw. It would take to many man hours to contact the next in line. They have said that for years. It takes them too long to contact people now which is why you see so many 76 and 61 bull tags on the list at the last minute

According to what I listened to, they plan to do this for all tags turned in. It will be a completely automated process via email.

I could be wrong. But that's how I understood it.

and it would take your points if you agreed? So what would happen to the tag when they go through the list of next in line and no one wanted to burn their points at the last minute? No way CPW will eat a tag.

That is how I understood it as well. Maybe they are delaying the roll out to iron out all the finer points. There will be those trying to game the system, but my approach is just go hunting. Holding points wont make me a better hunter or necessarily give me a better trophy in like 85% of the units in Co, the cpw ensured that when they went full R-tard on killing off the bucks the last 5 years

I do agree with you. But in this day and age it amazes me how many so called die hard hunters don't know about it and or have no idea how it works or how to access it. I know of at least a dozen old hunting buddies right off the top of my head who dont even know about it

Yes, it will take your points, and my understanding is that once it makes it the whole way down through the list of people, it would then be places on a re-issue list.

The odds of that happening to any tag worth a crap would be almost 0.

It's my understanding that it will be an email notification and a text, and you have 24 hours to pay for the tag and if you don't it immediately auto-issues to the next qualified person in line.

Eligibility example: If you already have an A-list tag, you would not be eligible for the re-issue tag.

I like the idea. It burns peoples points.

Okay. Most of the tags today were released at 11:00:30. The Leftover List was printed twice in that time frame, once at 11:00:00 and it was not on them as they were not yet released. It is printed exactly 5 minutes later at 11:05:00 and the tags were already either bought or in someone's cart and not on the list at that time either. Definitely no conspiracy at all as that list is printed every 5 minutes for years. The CPW employees are doing the same exact thing you are doing, click-click-click-click.

I think they discussed this and I think that it splits the group apart. I don't remember. But that would make the most sense.

It would make sense to have a button to opt in or opt out of the auto-re-issue when you enter the primary draw..

CPW employees definitely can have access to the tags before...I think that's the case when you see the good tags disappear off the re-issue list 10 minutes before 11.

I'm not a big believer in all of the bot talk...I've got really good tags when there was only 1 on the list. Average Joes would never have a shot at those if people were paying big money for programs (that or the programs suck). There are certain things you can do to make yourself more successful that are completely legit. The guys that talk about the programs/bots never have the screenshots or receipts to back it up.

I 100% agree a weekly drawing would be awesome. Do it just like the secondary draw with no youth preference. Pick one code, pay $10, and draw it out. It would raise revenue to offset some of the OTC tags going away. Everyone would complain about it but I know damn well everyone on here would be paying it lol.

I’ll actually kind of walk back the idea of weekly draws, I used to think that was awesome, but unless they are going to take that money and buy land/ habitat for the public good or pay the wardens or biologists a living wage in co, I don’t know if they will spend it responsibly these days with the current commission in place, unless it’s more cash for the big “pet” projects that Jared and Marlon keep forcing down everyone’s gullets. I think they have plenty of dollars from us, plus as those have mentioned it will likely harpoon your odds even more. Honestly I think the next in line method is sound. Means ya have to have the foresight to apply in the draw for the tags and lose points to take it. I’ll add the bots are kind of heresay, yet I’m not naive enough to think it’s not happening regularly. When a sammich shop guy will pay 600k for a ram tag I think there are smart enough fellas who would gladly take 10-20-30k for a 20 point tag

I don't think as many people would burn points as you think. There are too many tags that show up very last minute. I don't even get how they allow some of them, I saw a Muzzleloader bull tag get posted for the unit I hunt on the Wed before the season ended. For sure on those high point tags, but the <5 probably wouldn't see much.

I don't think it would be as long of odds as you think. The high value tags would absorb a lot of the entries and the rest would probably be spread out. You would also have a decent group that wouldn't want to spend the $$$. How the money gets spent is a totally different conversation. I just figured it could be a way to give the green light for ditching all the OTC seasons since revenue is always pointed to as a reason for keeping them.

Those are fair points. I do think that if I had 0 points and 0-5 point tag was offered I am taking it 1000% of the time because I put in for tags that I want to draw, not cause I’m throwing crap against a wall and hoping that it sticks haha

I know a bunch of you guys haven't had much success on the reissue list, but yesterday was the 1st time, I didn't get a tag I thought I could grab. I have had great success over the years and even picked up a couple only (1) tags.
Can't believe I couldn't pick up one of the seven unit 21 tags.

The number of people trying to get some of these tags right now should be a fraction of what was trying in August/Sept.

I was so confident I could get a tag, I almost made hotel reservations and was trying to reschedule the drop off dates of my steers to the processor.

Humble Pie was served.

They need to implement a system similar to the Nevada FCFS, IMO it is more fair to have tags drop in a queue at a random time instead of this crap shoot of a rat race.

I just wish everybody would stop complaining about the system. Whenever they make a change it gets worse for us. There is multiple people in this thread wanting it to go back to the old system. I’ve been lucky enough to get tags in both the old and new system and believe it is mostly fair and just might seem impossible sometimes due to the demand for certain tags. I am just happy to have an opportunity at these tags and I fear it won’t be lasting much longer.
