It took several days to even find any elk but was finally able to find them the 4th day of the hunt. Found one by herself and made the shot count. Good thing I had some help to pack this big girl out. Never seen a black cow elk so I feel kind of special. LOL. Have any of you ever come across one that is black? Should be some good eats! Thanks to everyone on here who helped me out with info.

Reminds me of the time my wife and i pulled up to customs at the USA side of the bridge in New York with her moose in the back of the truck bed. “Hey you guys, come see this lady’s elk!!”

We both just looked at one another and laughed (quietly)…lol
