2024 Reissue Thread

We will just meet on the mountain new timer🤣
Thanks
You bringing the food?
Can I use your rifle?
What’s the closest 5star hotel I can stay at and wait for your call when you have that new world record elk tied up for me?
🤣😎🤣😎

On a serious note could have those 6 returned tags been a group?
Maybe if they did not apply I would have drew the tag and have been preparing for a great hunt. Next year I hope.

Thanks

Well… you will have to bring your own 5 star hotel and food….
I just put together a rifle you can use for a price🤣
The rest we can discuss but like always no promises!
This is a weird year so far for sure. Who knows?

I don’t drink, but should I bring beer or whiskey? 🤣🤣

Personally I wish CPW would call up unsuccessful draw applicants who put in for that specific tag on the draw process. Tell them a tag has been turned in. Do you want yes it's yours, no we call the next guy inline. Seems to be the most fair
They did that in 2016 when I got my sheep tag. I was second in line they told me when the original person drew the tag and turned it back in.

It might be the most fair, but can you imagine the time and resources that would take in order to do for every tag on that list? According to CPW, they already do that for every tag that requires 5 or more points to draw. It seems to me that a good chunk of the tags that I see pop up on the list meet that criteria, so it's surprising to me that that many people are getting phone calls and turning the tags down in order for them to appear on the reissue list. It seems crazy that ONE person would turn down a phone call offering a 61 bull tag, let alone 6.

Think part of the problem is logistics of making a hunt fit into your work and family schedule at last minute.
I have been trying to draw 61 rifle. I never tried for one of the reissue tags for a few reasons.
If drawn in the draw I would have had time to make the hunt and scouting fit my schedule. Now it would not fit. And I would not use my 24 points for something that I am close to drawing and will be able to scout and hunt my way.

I know they take your points if you accept the high point tags via email if your the next person inline, but at minimum take points for any list A tag rewarded from re-issue as well. There’s enough hunters that I think would accept losing there 1 point on a zero point tag just to have the opportunity to hunt that year. And definitely points should be used on the quality re-issue tags, can’t believe CPW still lets people point bank when awarded high point tags.

That's a good point... I kind of take the approach that anything scored off of the reissue list is a bonus tag (that would change if they started taking points for them). But 90% of the time I'm going for tags that I have quite a bit of past experience with and live very close to.

I will never decline a sheep, moose, or goat tag if I'm the recipient of a phone call. But when I stop and think about it, it wouldn't be as simple of a decision with a deer or elk tag.

I have been called twice because I was next in line.
Do not forget that if you take the tag on that phone call, You will lose your points.
I am not willing to give up double digit points with no time to scout the tag. Therefore I turned it down.

If you grab a tag off the reissue list you do not lose your points. If you take their offer of next in line , you DO lose your points

Missing the good old days of the re-issue list…

Pretty quiet on here today.
Anyone successful?
Finally got to the Add to Cart screen. But it would not let me add it to my cart.
Getting closer.
Next week!!! 😎😎😎

I thought I had it, got to add to cart, clicked it and screen went to loading and kicked me all the way back to select a tag... never had that happen to me before.

Same several weeks in a row. I’ve yet to get a tag since they went to the mass release of tags. Who knew there were so many archers looking at so so tags.

So, the cpw screen allows the user to enter 4 choices. Do you enter all four or only one?

Looks to me like the screen has a bug in it. If you enter 4 choices, and the codes aren't yet "available for sale" then the error message takes precedence and you won't get an add to cart option for a later code that is available.

So do you all just choose to go for one code only to avoid this?

So, is a person one step behind if you are entering more than one code? A person who was only entering the 61 tag would have seen the add to cart option slightly sooner, correct?
It will give you a error code for each tag option or a validation code for each available tag. Just play around with the application page and enter tags that you know are not available and ones that you know are. Just to get a idea of how it works.
However, I have often wondered the same thing when entering more than one tag choice. I would think the system would still have to look for each choice and that would likely slow it down. I have had better luck just entering one tag at a time.

how long in before you give up? 1st time I didn't even make it to the add to cart.
I think you keep going until the error changes from "not available for sale" to " no available quota".

But then at some point the messaging returns to "not available for sale"? And another release can happen?

I'm really not sure but have heard about magic happening well after 11am.

I haven't even seen an add to cart the last 2 weeks. And the unit I was trying for had 5 tags and only took 1 nonresident point to draw. O well, at least I had a chance.

Funny, not going to name names... but someone saw I was looking to the reissue to get a tag and messaged me saying they have a really fast computer and really fast internet and have a very high success rate of getting tags off the reissue, already getting multiple this year, and for $1000 he would try for a tag, pay only when successful. told him I would rather buy OTC elk for cheaper.

Is that legal to do?

Huh? You’re going to have to explain to me how this enterprise would work. Consider me skeptical.

Seems reasonable priced to me. I would definitely do it.

I would give $1000 for that deal. Send him my way if you're not interested!

Anyone have a copy of this weeks downloaded re-issue list they could send me? I forgot to download it and I’m curious to see what was on the list.

Thanks

Ok, so it was a pm on here. There are a lot of strange pm’s on here. I misunderstood what you were saying.

Is the re-issue drawing the one that’s held by some nerds working out of a remodeled Dollar Store? Remember, the one with the jacked-up Camaro out front?

This crap is being run by an IT department. Doesn’t that explain it enough?

I have yet to get a tag since they switched the process. With the old process was always able to pick something up.

Here is what gets me .... Today there were aprox 10 decent buck tags on the reissue list. This leftover list was printed at 1100.01 and none of those tags hit the list. Now to me that says. someone (cpw employee) scooped them up before they were released to the public. There is no way all those tags could have been bought in less than 1 second. 1 or 2 tags , yea I get but 10? I smell something fishy...

Yeah I was going after one that had 7 tags and they were here and gone like a fart in the wind. System sucks, someone is gaming the system.

that is my point. where are at least one of those 7 tags on the leftover list at 1 second after 11am. I was hitting confirm at 10.55-11.05 . There is no way all those tags NEVER hit a list that is printed 1 second after it is released to the public.

I am sure we could call and complain again and waste our time listening to a kid who knows nothing fill our ear with scripted BS

The Leftover List Prints at the exact second at 11:00:00 then 11:05:00 and then every 5 minutes for eternity. The tags today were all dropped between 11:00:01 and 11:04:59 and added to someone's cart so none of them ever made the Leftover List. The Leftover List is useless for tags with any demand that are on the Preview List. There is no conspiracy here, they dropped in the first one or two minutes after 11:00:00 and were added to someone's cart in less than 1 second. All 7 21 3rds were scooped up as soon as they were dropped. There were probably a 1000 people clicking for those 7 tags....your odds were definitely less than 1%.

I do think we can thank our hunting social influencers for a lot of this angst. You know a handful of years ago the second draw and leftover were a bit of ummm how would I put it, in the know type deals. Now every freaking IG’er, Youtuber, and any dip shiz hawk tuah’ing hats and stickers posts a how to get a good tag with 0 points used. You are not competing against a few hundred or even a few thousand jamoques anymore, you are competing against 10’s of thousands plus the smartie pants bois and their little computer programs….

Nothing again. System kinda sucks. They should do a draw every week. $5 for every app, could make a lot of money and actually give everyone a chance.
They could but everyone who is on MM right after the draw complaining, their odds would definitely go down with a system like that as you would get many more applying for those 21 3rd tags vs. those who have the time to click every Wednesday, I think your odds would be higher to try for one a bit lower on the demand curve and click fast versus paying $5 to be in a lotto, my 2 cents anyways..

Yep I’m glad we get a shot, obviously a lot of us favored the random release, it rewarded the truly obsessive. I do like the idea that you have to have actually applied for the tag to get a crack at it, yet no perfect systems. I will say hopefully there will be a lot less, “ got this random tag in a unit I know nothing about, just looking for help posts” but I’m probably wrong about that too

I clearly understand that the left over list is usually useless . But in this case that it printed at 1 second after those 7 tags and others were released and not 1 showed up is fishy. You cannot tell my that CPW employees do not have access to these tags before they are released to the public and you cannot tell me that bots do not exist.

A weekly random draw would be better than this and would also generate more money .
