I would like to know everybody’s favorite MuleDeer either killed, found dead, sheds or just a picture. If you have a story post it and if you don’t then tell us why he’s your favorite. Can’t wait to see your favorite buck!

My favorite buck would either have to be the Big Bend Buck or Joe Dirt. I’m sure everyone knows the story of the Big Bend Buck. Joe Dirt was an Arizona strip Buck that was chased many years and I don’t think he was ever killed his two biggest sets were picked up and the bigger of the two was about 270. Colby Milne picked up his last set of sheds and Landon Sherwood picked up his big set. There’s some more buck I might post later.

That is unbelievable. Wow!

You know I love the Strip Bucks and have seen a lot of great pictures over the years. These Bucks have been chased by hundreds of people, thousands of trail cam pictures, chased by the air and never left alone. I’ve always kind of liked the lucky lone hunter who stumbles into something really special, you asked for it ,How about Brett Ross and his 292 6/8 Muley

I agree. I love the flannel shirt, blue jeans, simple rifle and scope and one hell of a big buck. All the marketing in today’s hunting age for gear gets ridiculous at times.

My favorite buck would have to be my 2023 buck because I was the one who killed him. I know it’s not as big of a deal to kill a 195+ on private land. but I love my buck because his character and mass. I hunted him for 2 days after scouting all summer. He had 47 inches of mass. Some people will speculate on our score so I’m posting the score sheet too.

I’m surprised nobody has said the King Buck from Wyoming he has an awesome frame and I love his extras. Everybody has seen many pics of him so I won’t post any. Another buck I really like is Rich Langner’s Buck from AZ Strip, I believe they called him “Fifty”. He has the most unique extras and he just has the look.

My niece lived on west university avenue, and one of the favorite spots for the cemetery buck sleep was inthe back yard of my niece. I would park at her house and walk to Utah football games. On one of the trips the cemetery buck was sleeping in the back yard, what a special treat to see him at 20 feet resting peacefully.

That's not me or my buck. Just a screen shot off youtube called the legends channel. Just really like that buck. Don't believe it ever was taken by a hunter.

A few years back, my dad and I were hunting out of state and the bolt on my custom 300 RUM took a crap on me. Against my parents advice, I did NOT bring a back up. My dad told me dont worry, you can use mine after i tag out. He tags out. The following morning we get to the trail head and he hands me his 300 WSM, "clip is in, just need to jack in a shell when you're ready." About 20 minutes into the hike I look up about 20 yards above the trail im on and spot the most beautiful typical 4x4 i've ever seen. Heavy and big. I jack a cartridge into the chamber, shoulder the rifle, put the crosshair on his neck. My dad says, "my god do not F-ing miss that pig".... Click. Click. Hmm, nothing is happening. My dad starts to panic, "what are you doing", "shoot!!!!". I reply calmly, "your gun wont fire." By this time the buck has figured out whats going on and starts to run away up the hill. As my dad is losing his mind, i realize that each time i'm trying to jack a round in, that the bolt is sliding right over the cartridges in the magazine. The mag wasnt secured all of the way 😫🤬😤 I get a shell in the chamber and by this time the deer is gone. We spend some time chasing after him but no luck. The next day we head into the same trail head with very minimal hope. Instead of finding the buck that got away, we find his remnants (his sheds from that prior year). I did redeem myself and harvest a 187 5/8" typical the following year about 5 miles away. But I still find myself replaying those stressful moments in my head and wonder what could have been. On the flip side my dad (always there to pick me up when im down) says, "look at it this way, you just saved yourself $1000 in taxidermy bills." 🙄

I think I may like this one better than my wide 218". This was first big buck I found scouting up in early season backpacking. Watched him for 3 hrs at 400 yds first day. Watched him 4 consecutive days before opener and got him at 10 am opening day. Watched him rub off velvet in rain a couple days before. Beautiful cape. Nice color on his antlers. Cool flamey extras.
