It looks to be a good year now. Sure trying to hit the buy button on a Clearwater trip but wish I still had my own boat. Getting fish on my own is the satisfaction.

You have that right. I lived in the Snake and Columbia and they were home to Me like the Bitterroot River was home to the Mcleans in the movie A River Runs Through It.
 
I’ve fished the Great Lakes for steelies several times over the years. They have several different varieties of steelies. Some run in the spring and others in the fall. You want to talk about a silver bullet…they run and do amazing acrobatics! They are one of my favorite fish species!

Try adding a swift river to a big running Steelie. Hard to stop them.
 
If you know where and when to go, you can catch 50 in a day in the tributaries in Lake Erie. I’m not talking about going to the “famous” Elk and Walnut Creek’s either…,lol
