I want to know how many Hunters this fall have had bucks that have been shot with 17hmrs, 22's and the such. I know of two bucks that survived poaching attempts to to be killed legally during the muzzaloader that had small caliber wounds.

Did you by chance report this to the DWR? I heard of something similar many years ago and they caught the person only because someone reported it when they and others in an area found 22 slugs in their deer. (neck/head area)
