Looking for a new whitetail destination. With the mule deer hunting at what seems like an all time low all over the west I’m looking for new ideas ? I’ve hunted whitetail in Wyoming, South Dakota, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri so far. Looking for somewhere different, and definitely a rifle hunt. Somewhere with a growing population of decent deer. No cwd, ehd, blue tongue b.s. outbreak areas ! Where would you go ??? Got to be some good hunting left somewhere !!! I’m wondering about south possibly ???

Great idea. For years the flatlanders have headed west. Should send a wave of westies back east. 😂😂😂

Lol !!! Dang whitetails will live and thrive just about anywhere from what I’ve seen ! I know there’s places left I don’t think a person could recruit enough to shoot em out ! That’s where I’d like to go next …….

My other half has a cabin in Oklahoma….. I’m well aware of what lives there, just don’t like the new price tag to get one !

NW Oklahoma is my personal favorite. I haven’t personally killed any giants there, but an opportunity at a 130-140” buck is very likely. 150”+ deer are obviously there, but if you wait until rifle season, they are usually busted up pretty bad from fighting.
Maybe 5-6 years ago I had a (10 point) buck come in that was busted off on his left side roughly 2” before his G2. Technically making him a 7pt. Had he not been busted, I’m sure he was in the 165+ range.
You said you don’t like the new price tag to get a tag, consider what you have to spend to apply in any western state as a non-res.
The cost of a license & applying for multiple animals that you most likely won’t draw a tag for.
