A Legend is Gone RIP Charlie Hustle

I’m old enough to remember him on the field. His hits record still stands; all with no juice. Although BB was pretty fun when all the roid boys were peaking.

Meanwhile everyone and their grandma is placing bets from their cell phones.

Yup, should be in the HOF. Put an asterisk by his name if you want. His betting had nothing to do with those hits.
 
The Big Red Machine of the 70's was one of the best teams ever assembled. Charlie Hustle should definitely be in the HOF, dude left it all on the field every time.

For me, his extra marital affair with a 15 year old girl when he was in his 30s is more worthy of losing respect for the man than him doing a legal play on a baseball field.

Incredible ball player. All indications is he was a royal class A prick.
 
He is absolutely a Hall of Fame caliber player. Just like Bonds and Clemens. There is no debating any of their worthiness when you only look on the diamond.

In my head I thought his ban was termed as a “lifetime ban,” and now that he’s no longer alive it would no longer apply. However, I learned today he was put on the “permanently ineligible” list. So it’s permanent, not his lifetime.

Pete Rose may never get to the hall, and he’ll only have Pete Rose to blame. He was never a very good victim, that’s for sure!

That 15 year old, wasn't the only one...she was the one that he got caught with....according to his Bookie.

He bet on his team while he was the Manager. He claims that he always bet on them...but it is possible that he shaved points as it is also possible that he had big debts to bad people (he had the debts).

As a manager, he put himself into the line-up when he shouldn't have...which extended his record. His #'s stunk in his later years.

He ended a guy's career by being a butt-head (based on today's interpretation of the Obstuction Rule and the fact that it was malicous play). I have a DH tomorrow, and it one of the players does what that knucklehead did...I'll eject her posterior.

That said, when played LL, they passed out a booklet that described the positions and how that game is to be played and etc. Pete Rose was featured in it.

OHHHHH, he lied about his gambling, for years, for years....I hate liars
