This fawn killer came in while we were skinning that bear…..possibly the smallest coyote I have ever killed and I have killed a lot (100+) of them….

We went up for the deer opener last weekend but with the heat and moon the deer weren't moving. My boy decided to go to a spot we have seen bears in the past and he wasn't there 10 minutes and this old gal walked out. Luckily the old .300 savage did its job and she only ran 20yds in a very steep area. Her molars and front teeth were worn almost flat with her gums.
Oh yeah, look at the noggins on those! Awesome bears, congrats!

Shot this boar on September 6. Posted him in another thread.
254 yd shot with a 30-06. Shooting handloads with 168 gn Barnes TTSX. The hunt was not how I had planned it but was still great. I thought I would spend my time in the backcountry living out of my backpack. The first few days of scouting turned up no sign so I decided to hunt from the back of my truck and glass down into the oak trees. I'm pretty sure this is a bear I saw on opening morning Sept. 2 surfing the top of one of those oak trees at closer to 400 yds. With the wind and range I didn't feel comfortable taking that shot. I happened to catch him feeding in the same way when I moved 20 feet to get out of the sun and into some shade. One of many blessings I was given over the week.
First bear and super excited about the solo hunt even though it was different than originally pictured.
