Son’s Bighorn

We were able to find and crawl within 30 yards of four bedded rams early in our hunt in BC. Sometimes it can seem impossible to turn up a sheep, let alone a nice ram. I know my son Blaine feels very fortunate to have had the opportunity to simply hunt these animals. The good news is I can make the opener now for my Wyoming elk hunt!

Congratulations, those BC bighorn sheep hunts aren’t cheap and are hard to be successful on. Good for him. Was that the first go at it ? I know most guys end up going multiply times.

We were fortunate. That was his first try. The guy before us didn’t get one. He saw some though. We didn’t have high expectations and just wanted to fill the tag knowing he may never get another chance.

Dang nice Ram indeed.

He has gotten 1/2 his Slam just this fall.

I remember his Desert Ram too.

Congrats to ya both,

Robb

I’ve hunted every year since 1983 and still need a stone. Hope I can get it done while the knees still function properly. My son is only 24 and he’s now in the same boat as me, except his knees have a lifetime in front of them before they feel like mine. It’s actually more fun watching him succeed than it is when I hunt. I guess it’s hard to explain unless you have children.

I've been very fortunate to take all four NA rams and my son was on every hunt with me. I also have been even more blessed to be on my son's hunts where he too is a 3/4 slammer. I know what you mean about watching your son's hunts!
It's awesome to see your success and I wish you both even more in the future. Go get that Stone! I got mine when I was 68, but at 75 I probably won't be able to accompany my son to complete his slam.
Good on you guys and thanks for the post which reignites the "Sheep Fever".

Thanks for the kind words. Time flies by so quickly that it’s nice to have these good memories to look back on.

We have the stone hunts on the books. Hope we each find one and put it together.
