Diesel fuel in koosharem??

I'm headed down to fishlake on Tuesday for the muzzy hunt and wondering if anyone knows if you can buy diesel fuel in koosharem? Trying to find the closest place to fill up my truck on the way down. Thanks for any help

I don't know about Koosharem, but for sure in Loa. Otherwise you have Salina or Richfield. Good luck with the hunt!

Loa does for sure and also had a grocery store, auto parts, and hardware store.

I dont think they do. I went through there last month to go uptop onto Monroe and didnt see a gas station, but I wasnt paying close attention. I always fill up in Salina when I go up there.

Check the Mercantile on main street, They have gas but I am not sure if they still have Diesel. Depending on what part of the unit you are hunting Loa would be closer anyway.

Good luck, the leaves where just starting to change last week and bulls were starting to scream.

They have both gas and diesel, credit card at the pump, available 24 hours.

Salina will almost always have the cheapest fuel, at Holley’s Pantry, down town or the Mavrick at the I-70 exit.

Koosharem’s fuel will be the highest but more convenient when time is a factor. Sometimes time is more valuable than money.

Thanks a bunch man I appreciate it that'll save me some time and also get me further. I never understood why ford put a 22 gallon fuel tank in a one ton f350 powerstroke.

Engineers are not always right……. I’ll wager it’s a profit driven decision.

Maverik in Salina top off and get a few goodies. Head up Goose berry rd east of Salina on I 70. My F 350 has a 37 gallon tank . But its a long bed. I believe the regular bed is 25 gallons. Loa has fuel you can use a card when closed. Koosherm the guy has to be open for you to pump. Good luck !

Thanks ya mine is the short bed and 25 gallon sounds right. I haven't pulled my toy hauler over gooseberry yet but we're camping up um creek. Is it faster to go gooseberry than go though sigurd and up that way?

I bought diesel at Grass Valley a few years ago.
That is a cool store and a step back in time.
The postal boxes are extra cool.
Not sure what was up with the diesel pump but the girl had to come out and put the belt on the old pump for me to get a tank fuel.
That was awesome!

Hi BigJ. That used to be the case but Koosharem Merc has installed newer pumps that operate with a credit card now. You can buy gas or diesel whether the store is open or not.

I included their phone number so you can confirm.

It's a 2013 short bed, they put a 25 gallon in some of them I think 37 gallon in some and then I think a few of the long beds they may have put a 50 gallon in. They should just put 50 gallon minimum tanks in all diesel trucks.

Good golly you act like it is the middle of nowhere. I have no idea what you are hauling but you must be getting 3-4 mpg to be worried. It really isn't that far from Salina. Enjoy downtown Kooshareum or Loa on a break from the action.

if camping in UM loa is close for fuel. The UM creek is a little rougher than normal in spots with wash boards this year than prior years

My long bed f350 has a 37 I believe. A tad over 700 hwy mile range.

But I’m not a big fan of backwoods diesel. I don’t carry spare fuel filters.
