Reading review after review. Figured poll the forum to get tested experience. As I get older my great gets nicer(it is what it is). I am retiring a couple pairs of surplus BDU's.
Looking for a mid weight pair of durable, water resistant, vented pants for 3rd and 4th season. Usually don't have cold legs but want something I can sit all day on the thermarest in the snow. Temps will be from 0-50* but I will pair with merino/synthetic base layers so not looking for anything heavy. What would you chose for $150-$200 range? Appreciate the feed back.

Been wearing the same Core4elemnet pants for many years now.
Once I found some I liked I bought enough to last the rest of my hunting life.
I'll be interested to hear what folks like about the various brands and their pros and cons.
 
Predator camo Alpine pants are my go too. About 120.00 if I remember correctly. Super comfortable. Good pockets. Dwr water covering. Tough in thick brush.

I've got the SKRE pants and really like them. I have a summer lightweight and a heavier pant. They have the easy to remove long underwear that I like as well. Can remove or put them on without needing to take pants and boots off.
I also have their down puffy pants, but never even worn them yet.

Yes, I believe they are the Hardscrabble.
I got the down pants as well for later season hunts in Colorado, I just haven't been on one since get them. They pack up tight and if they're anything like the down jacket, then they're gonna be nice if ever get a chance wear them. With those you can easy take them off to hike, put on when you sit down.
 
I’ve ran nearly about every pant on this list and my personal favorites are ranked in order.

1. Sitka Timberline
Extremely durable, comfortable, lots of pockets, athletic fit, removable knee pads, suspenders. I’ve owned multiple pairs of them over the last decade and they still rank as my favorite mountain hunting pant.

2. Kuiu Attack
Very comfortable pant, extremely versatile, not as many pockets and bells and whistles as the Sitka timberline but have been a consistent piece in my arsenal over the last 10 years. I actually use them as work pants as a Electrician.

3. Stone Glacier Dehavilland pant
Started wearing these when came out a couple years ago. Don’t have the athletic fit that Sitka/kuiu do, but are extremely durable and offer better waterproof protection than the Sitka/kuiu. They’ve been my staple rifle season pant the last couple years. My favorite feature on them is that you can zip the pant legs all the way up for ventilation when hiking or when taking off or adding base layers.
 
The attack pants are nice if you like skinny jeans. Go stone glacier De Havilland all the way. Way more comfortable. If you're thinking of sitting in zero degree weather, none of those pants will cut it. Get the Stone glacier grumman down pants and wear under the dehaviland
 
I haven't worn all of those pants, but I have really liked the KUIU Attacks. ESPECIALLY for road hunting and keeping my Pepsi cool.
I actually wear the Attacks year round at work as well.
 
I agree with the KUIU comments above. But, to me they size differently than other brands ( or I'm just fat ). They have waterproof pants as well, but I Just keep a cheap pair of pullover pants in my bag if needed.
 
ive been enjoying the stone glacier... my brother does the attack and now also has the stone glacier I should ask his opinion. Im no longer buying anything first lite from meat beater...he rubs me the wrong way and certainly has helped ruin the western hunting in my opinion....

I buy them one size up to have extra room in the crotch and thighs.
 
Had a couple of zippers that failed on a pack and coat and kuiu giving me a hard time about warranty in them.
 
A few of friends that have kuiu think they are warm but not made tough.

Might be a little heavier than you're after but the Kuiu Axis pants are awesome! The original Kuiu Chinook pants are still my favorite of all time but they've been discontinued for awhile, those would have fit what you're after. And I guess I'm an anomoly in that I don't really care for the attack pants.
 
Kuiu attacks are the ONLY thing out there with a some what decent inseam.all the rest are "Capris" No one makes a lined late season TALL!! If any body knows of big guy pants please post!6'4 250should be 235...40 by 38 kuiu attacks in 40 tall fit well...their lined Guide..top of my boots damnit.
 
think you will really like the attack pants, but make sure you have lots of layers if it’s at the bottom end of your temp range and/or there is a breeze. I don’t get cold, but noticed I was much more comfortable in the chinook pant than the attacks last year in temps below 20 and just a merino base layer.
