This is my 2024 archery muley. I found him in early July he grew quite a bit from then till september, slept under the stars many nights to figure out this old buck and it took more effort and persistence to put a tag on this buck then any of my other animals. I about gave up archery hunting him several times but yesterday morning he gave me the smallest opportunity to close some distance on him. Although it was a slim chance it could work out I had nothing to lose at this point so I made my stalk. Closing the distance to 58 yards and him not knowing I existed during the time of the shot quartering away hard the arrow found it's mark and the thwack of the arrow slapping his side broke the morning silence followed by the loud thud of his hooves hitting the ground as he raced down the draw. I watched as he made it surprisingly 4 or 500 yards which had me worried for a bit. I called my brother who was hunting an hour or so away to come help me look I waited to give him time. I followed him up into the last brush pile I saw him in and a coyote ran out. There wasn't much blood as the dirt was so dry it was sucking it up and he was hit a little high as well. I made a pass through the brush and I didn't locate him my heart sank. I put my arrow back in the quiver and and started to try and take up his trail again I was walking back to the last place I had his trail and ran right into him he crawled up into a little wash out only big enough for his body. And the rest is history thanks for lookin' guys
