Thank you sir, oh I’m not much of a story teller. First half of the hunt I was in the wilderness living out of my pack having a blast just going where the elk end up. Got wet a few times, ruined a pair of brand new boots (don’t buy salewa), got really frustrated and annoyed that first week, I had lot of encounters but couldn’t close the deal, seems like the cows were always in the way of the bulls I was chasing. Anyways I went home for a few days for work and family time, I went back up Tuesday after work and hunted an area I hunted a few days before. Left the truck around 4 pm, finally found some elk around 6:30-6:45 bulls started to bugle a bit. Two bulls in the group with some cows and calves, did a loop around the cows to get to the bulls in the back and my bull fed right above me at 52 yards. He gave me time to range him, dial my floater to exact yardage, draw back and let him have it. Shot was a little far back was my first though, elevation was good. Blood gushing right away, he ran like a bat out of hell for 200 yards and then bed down immediately, I closed the distance on him to 100 yards watching him in his bed, I maybe could have snuck in and got another arrow in him but I felt confident with the shot and the blood coming out I figured he would expire. So I just watched him till dark, he was coughing, head bobbing, he even rolled on his side a few times but he was still alive all the way till dark and I really didn’t wanna bump him and give him an adrenaline spike so I decided to back out and leave him over night. Came back at 6:30 in the morning with my sister and friend and he was dead in his bed, had him cut up and back in the truck by 9:30. My buddy even called in a bull to us as we were cutting mine up, we had a blast yesterday. Sad it’s over but happy to be home with the family and happy to harvest a bull.Iccy, cool story and thanks for posting. Always up for a goood read!

I agree - passwords are worthless when you have to write them down and put them in the drawer next to the computer!!!Ha Ha
Wife and I were talking the other day about ALL the passwords we have for everything. We each have a ton of them and need the other person to get into our accounts. God for bid we lose one of our cheat cheat sheets.

Thank you sir! He got a little busted up on is tumble down the side of the hill but super cool to have the help of the wife and kiddos to pack him out. Found this bull first morning and there was quite a bit of pressure in the area and turned down multiple bulls to hopefully get an opportunity at this guy. Day 3 had him at 50 with no shot opportunity and on Day 5 and the stars aligned.Awesome bull tallpine and even better you had the family with you. Can’t beat that! Congrats man!
