Very odd night

I’ve never ever witnessed this until tonight.
3 bulls in one basin.
Bull 1…. Little satellite bull 4x5 screaming!
Bull 2… not big probably 320 not a bugle one but just chuckling.
Bull 3…. 280 bull running all over not making a sound.
Not one cow in site that I could find.
All probably within 800 yards.
Thoughts?

Hmmm....very cool scenario for sure. Just a bachelor group that maybe hasn't caught wind that it's the rut yet?

It's like last year in 40. I was hunting the second week of the season and where I was hunting the elk were losing their mind. But the other hunters who were on the other side of the unit weren't hearing a sound.

This sounds like the scenario of the Little Bull running down the hill and the Large Bull walking down the hill.

just not a cow anywhere I could see.
I went back in there Saturday evening and there were 8 cows and the 4x5 about 500 yards apart. No bugling. The bigger bull was laid up in the oak brush just hanging out. I did not see any other bulls.
