Zion deer muzzleloader hunt

Hey guys. I have a Zion muzzloader deer tag. I am trying to find these deer and haven’t had any luck. I have been up there 7 days. I haven’t seen anything better than a few deer. 1-2 year olds. None even by the farms down by the 9 or 89 in Orderville. I’m not looking for the honey hole. I’m having a tough time finding them being a migratory unit. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Most are still up on top right now and will be there throughout your hunt.

They are mostly above 7,500 feet. Some will drop lower by the hunt, but most won’t. Get off the road.

The Zion unit is full of private land, and that's where the majority of the deer live. Hunt areas around private and it may improve your odds, but there is a lot more private than public in desirable areas.

That is what I have found on the unit mostly small nursery bucks 1-2 year olds and lots of private. The mature bucks hide out on private until November before they start dropping down.
