Anyone hearing some bugling action yet?

I’m out of town for work in Maryland, but I’m planning on heading to 262 to glass & listen for bugles this Sunday.
Just curious to know if anyone has been out & hearing any early bugling.

I drew an archery tag for 121 and was just there for 5 days. I heard very little bugling and the bulls were still grouped up.
Thanks! Any luck at all on your hunt?
My plans for tomorrow were derailed, so I’m hoping I can get out there Wednesday.

I flew home for a few days. I will start hunting again on the 3rd and plan to stay till the end of the season if that is what it takes.

Hey Brother, I just returned from my second trip a couple of days ago. Did not fill my deer tag, but I did see a few bulls grouped up in a wallow one morning. No bugling and no cows in the area.

Dang man! I hate that you didn’t punch your tag. Give me a ring when you have time to talk so we can catch up. I’m “hoping” to go down to the Creek Wednesday. I need to put a few rounds through the 6ARC & was planning to get down there before daylight to do some glassing before I do a little shooting.

Will do! Oh, I have a story for you. lol

Would love to see how that 6ARC performs! Should be a flat-lining zinger!

Sunday I made it down to do some glassing. I heard maybe 5 or 6 bugles & few few cow calls. I ended up glassing roughly 20 elk with 4 of them being bulls & 2 of them were solid bulls in the 310-330 range.

I went out again yesterday morning & heard very little bugling. The cows are calling, but the rut action isn’t really heating up yet in the area. I did put eyes on what is probably the biggest bull I have ever seen out there. I’d guess he was 360”+. Normal for the area on the mature bulls is around 300-330”.
