Yeah but have your heard Biden talk? Or walk? I’m by no means trump lover. But it’s kinda rough to watch the media go after trump on age now. Just because the machine selected another candidate doesn’t take away that Biden is still the president. Should he step down?
We all saw what happened the last four years; if anything that's more reason to question electing a 78 year old again, not less.
Should Biden step down? I'm not sure. I definitely don't want him making decisions in a crisis, though I don't want Kamala making those decisions either. We do have Constitutional safeguards in place, if needed, but neither option is good.
I don't think Republicans want Biden to step down because then Kamala can fly around in Air Force One and play President. All of a sudden, she has the power of Executive Action and incumbency.
Bottom line is this was totally predictable. I called it here on MM months ago that this is exactly what would happen. I even said I thought the Dems were baiting the GOP to run Trump. That's what happened. Now the Repubs are stuck with maybe the most polarizing political figure in a century, carrying the weight of a history of ageist attacks, erstwhile they can't really formulate a good strategy against Kamala outside of NewsMax & FNC; whose viewers were never undecided anyway.
When the Dems pulled the rug out and switched the teams up in the fourth quarter, all of a sudden the lines of attack on Hunter Biden's troubles and Joe Biden's age were useless. Trump's campaign is on the record that they weren't ready for it and Trump even demanded refunds for the money they spent campaigning against the wrong person.
It's very telling when Biden's team was demanding the mics be off during the debate and Kamala is trying to get them left on. They knew Biden wasn't up to the task, but Kamala knows Trump is his own worst enemy and the more he talks, the less likely he is to get elected.
Go rewatch the Harris/Pence debate and you'll see she's a formidable opponent in that forum.
GOP were caught with their pants down and shouldn't have been. This was an unforced error... just like demanding Biden step down would be.
Trump's team is trying to get him to stay on point, he even admitted as much at a rally a few days ago. He just can't help himself and he's unable to then focus on why he SHOULD get elected... instead focusing on why to NOT elect the other side. It's a bad spot for a candidate to be in.
