Crazy Change in 1 Year

I've never seen a buck change this much in 1 year to a completely different frame. I've watched them switch sides with inlines and cheaters or add a cheater once in a while but to have a completely different frame is crazy. I think the most random change I have seen besides this one was the cheater buck i watched and hunted for a few years grew a 6" drop tine the year my cousin ended up getting him.

The 3 point main frame was last year

Many probably know that I've never been a fan of 3x bucks and 3x genetics, but that's a cool buck with all the extras!
 
I didn't really want to say anything negative about that particular buck but bucks with a 3x frame will possibly not score very well using the B&C nontypical score sheet even if they have a gob of extra tines. Obviously, score isn't everything.

Cool buck and it's great to see such an incredible increase in only a year or 2!

So you're saying you wouldn't shoot this buck with a 3x3 frame?

I didn’t say I wouldn’t shoot him as a cool nontypical. I just said his 3x frame detracts from his B&C score. Obviously score isn’t everything.

My guess is that the same nontypical genetics are in that herd with 4x4 frame. In fact, there is a 4x4 buck in the 2nd photo. Just think what that buck would be like with a giant 4x4 frame plus extras.

If you had 2 nontypical bucks standing beside each other and 1 had a 3x3 and other had a 4x4 frame with both having similar extra tines, which buck would you shoot?

With that said, he’s still a really cool buck and I would likely shoot him if I couldn’t find a whopper typical or nontypical with a 4x4 frame while scouting/hunting.

I will say I would've been in the 99.7% 😂. I never would have guessed he'd change into this. But I've been wrong lots, looking at the pictures of the king before he was a big deal he was a crab claw 4x5 that I'd have never thought would turn into anything either. Then the bucks I've thought would blow up never changed 😂

Also saw some new pictures of this buck and his cheaters are now splitting too.

Curious.

Is he still a 3point on the left side before the extras are accounted for? It looks like the extras come off the back fork, but no g4 measurement. Just the main beam on the left.
 
That is an inferior 3 point that should have been shot on a 2nd tier management tag........you'd give it a second look Founder?
 
Photos like these make me wish I had a mule deer tag somewhere. Keep looking at how big that buck turned out to be.
 
Couple more town bucks. I'm sure this will stir some controversy but I think it's funny the fish and game makes such a big deal about people feeding the deer during the winter saying that will kill them. So far the only big bucks that I knew about pre 2022/23 winter that are still alive is the town deer that the people fed. People feeding are the only way they possibly lived because in town that winter the only way they could get around was where the snow plow went and people clearing side walks. In yards the brush was so far under snow they definitely wasn't getting any food that way. I wish F&G would have atleast tried to feed that winter on the main winter grounds. Maybe would've had a few more deer now.

I'm calling B.S. bess. If you seen that deer running around the south slope general unit you hunt, at the very least you would take one of your family members (kids/grandkids)into kill it. If not you just ain't into killing big bucks.

There is nothing about that buck that screams young deer he is an old mature deer, the fact he changed so much is an anomaly. That does not happen 99% of the time.

I don't know man, your making a strong case for Nillys "you don't really hunt" stance with that choice.

Hell maybe you have multiple 220+ bucks under your belt, you've never showed any indication of anything you have killed in the 20+ years I have known you on this forum, I do recall one picture of you with a buck, a really nice one from Colorado that someone else shared I'm assuming without your permission. But as far as bucks you said you have killed even just statements of those deer you haven't said much.
And this site would be pretty boring without a few people posting "look at me" pictures so I'm glad most dont have your mentality on that matter.
