The unit is 1496 square miles and there are 26 archery tags.

JFC, How much pressure could a guy really be experiencing?! lol
 
And in addition to “spotters,” all the guys randomly driving around not connected to any hunter just hoping to find a giant so they can sell the info to a willing buyer.

A buck like that wouldn't live for 15 minutes where I hunt.
 
I’ve already been close to four shooters in one week. Two were 30” wide. I can hunt the full four weeks. No way I was gonna shoot that one in the photo. I got close this morning. Was hiking where I saw the two big ones and crested a hill there was a stud looking at me from 35 yards. Dammit.

Before my health decline, I was a very good elk hunter. Mule deer, not so much. 😂 I really suck at this spot & stalking mule deer hunting. Bumped another stud at 40 yards yesterday morning. Four in the same 50 acres over five days. Moved to a more stalkable terrain and glassed another shooter across the canyon, but it was hot out and he came out way too late to try a stalk. Back here this morning same spot. A good start, no minions here!

Very odd that he has went mia.

Does anyone live close that can run over to his campsite and check on him or does anyone know his cell phone to call or text?
 
That doesn’t sound good guys, now you have me thinking not so good thoughts… I hope we’re all wrong and the hunting is just that good he can’t break away….
 
I live on the unit and been checking in via text, I busted a tire on my truck and currently running my spare so I haven't made it to his camp yet, but I do know where he is camped.
The last time I heard from him was Friday morning, we have had 2 days of non stop rain, then yesterday it was windy all day.
I'll text him, if no response I'll run the wheeler out.

I wouldn’t worry about Zim disappearing on you guys. I don’t know how many remember but he also disappeared hunting Bison out on the Henry’s about 20 years ago but he came back.

Clearing the zipper is the most dangerous part. I remember and won’t ever forget the time when I was about 14 and not only did I not clear it but was attacked by the zipper as I was closing it up. Caught the tip right in it. Now if you’ve ever done that and I can’t be the only one that has, you know the worst is yet to come because now you gotta release it.😳

I think I would rather step full on into a bear trap than get caught by the skin in a YKK.😱
