Mr. Eelgrass

I remember that bull. That was the year I met Teddy Roosevelt. We both spotted this bull, and he started his stalk ahead of me but before he got in range, I pulled off the longest shot I ever made and killed it. He was pretty upset. In fact, he said he was going to make Yellowstone a National Park just to keep me out, and he did. He said if he couldn't kill the big bulls, nobody will. Ted's gun bearer is the one who took the photo. I told him to go hunting in Africa where he belongs.

As a matter of fact, where I was camped in the photo is where the Old Faithful Inn is today. Thanks for the memory, Doc.

Now you know why Eel is always welcome at my campfire. He can tell some whoppers and make you believe they are true and he does not charge you for the entertainment.

Eel that looks more like a Sharps rifle with a ladder type Vernier rear sight. I know as I killed two buffalo with a Pedersoli 1874 Sharps. Just not back in time when you killed yours.

No, I got caught up in the hype and in a moment of weakness I traded it for a 6.5 Creedmoor. Worst trade I ever made. Speaking of trade, I traded the elk rack to a Shoshone squaw. I never saw her or the rack again. I thought she loved me.
Was lettuce involved?
