Canadian Wolf Hunting

After hunting multiple times in Idaho looking for a wolf I decided to got hunt Canada.
I found a guide who hunts you 8 full days and has a great set up.
Dang they have Big Dogs up there!
I rarely post pictures anymore but this will get you pumped up!?

Outfit.I will go back.
Something about them just tingles the hair.. I wish I would have just done it sooner.
So hard to catch up to them in Idaho.I sure spent a lot of wasted time and money.

Just seeing the size of that thing confirms the certain extinction of Mule Deer in some western states, since they won't be managed. An elk doesn't stand a chance let alone a deer. Congrats on your hunt!!!

Sorry man! After rereading my post I was a little insensitive towards the wolves and a little more pro Mule Deer "My Bad." I guess I need to retake my Diversity, Equality, and Inclusive training on non-native wolves in the lower 48.

If I remember right Big Game heard numbers were actually pretty low in the 1800s and had a massive boom once predators were managed and or eradicated. Elk numbers significantly increased all over the west and Mule Deer had a huge boom in the 60s to 80s. I'm certainly not for extinction of anything, but I happen to live in a state where predators are not probably managed and never will be "Hunters included."

I read an interesting article a few weeks back from your neck of the woods "Alaska" where wolves had killed every single Blacktail deer on an island, and now had resorted to eating sea lions and Otters. Wolves seem like a relentless Apex predator to me, and IMO a deer doesn't stand a chance against one or more.

I realize you're very pro wolf and that's fine! Like I said congrats to the hunter on a great hunt and harvest!

How old were you in the 1800’s? Who did the population counts back then?

Still waiting for the wolves to ruin the elk hunting in WY MT and ID like all you anti wolf people were saying was going to happen. Hahahahahhhaha. WY elk hunting is the best it’s ever been since it’s become a state. Looks like those big bad super wolves and elk can co exist just fine!

I have blocked a couple of the kids on here so I don’t have to listen to those with credibility issues.
I’m at the point in life I just want to hunt.
So I don’t have much patience for the chest thumping or the ax grinders.

I'm not anti wolf at all, I just happen to live in Oregon where predators are not controlled whatsoever bc Portland runs this state. Wolves will never be managed here unless its livestock related. At some point something will have to give. I have 15 yr old twins and honestly believe that in some parts of this state MD will not exist in their lifetime.

WY, ID, MT, like you mentioned actually have hunting and trapping seasons on wolves so there is a little bit of management. With that said I realize they are smart and hard to hunt with low success rates, but there is a chance for some management. I believe Idaho still offers a bounty of some sort. I might be wrong?

I won't respond further since this post was about "Fullcry" and his successful hunt. Just seeing the size of that wolf's body and head that he shot really puts in perspective how hard it would be for a Big Game animal to get away. Especially a smaller sized animal like a deer! That was my main point!!! :)

Have any baited deer hunts planned this year? Notice how he won’t tell anyone how he “hunted” that wolf. Hahahahahaha

That sucks you live in Oregon. I can see why you’re so frustrated. Low big game populations to begin with, Portland, so close to WA. Better yourself, get out of that state.

10 more years to finish my F&W Trooper job then I'm out, probably to Idaho as I have a rental there. You're right though our Big Game numbers aren't great already especially MD which I covet. So frustrated and concerned, you bet I am!!! ?

Course those ole flatbrimers couldn’t find a herd of elephants if they’d wondered into camp at high noon.

You have a point there. Wyoming elk hunting is as good as ever from what I hear
 
I definitely don't see wolf hunting pics everyday. That's a huge jumbo wolf with beautiful fur coat. Wow, dream hunt for sure!! (y)
