If any of you plan to hunt around Antelope Lake, specifically Wheeler sheep camp and are planning on doin some summer scouting between now and July 4 be prepared for a lot of extra company in the woods. The Rainbow Family Gathering set up camp near Wheeler's and plan to have 10,000 people in attendance. That's not counting the 20000 folks that'll be in Quincy for High Sierra too. The Rainbows are the filthiest group you'll ever run across. Expect a crap load of trash left in the woods. USFS plans to "monitor" the event, which doesn't have a permit. 1500 narcotics arrests are anticipated.

I hear USFS are ticketing folks going up there. Hahahahaha
Not yet but they gave em 48 hours to vacate, closed the forest to all activities. The Rainbows found a back way in and are still encouraging people to come, like the feds aren't gonna check to make sure they left. Also have heard that the Forest services might reneg.

I was up there Saturday and saw some of their rigs heading in from 395 on the Antelope lake road. Also saw a couple forest rangers working… think they might have been BLM. They had put up no parking signs all along the road. Hopefully they’ll be discouraged from showing up.
