Anyone shooting BE arrows? Looking at Rampge or deep impact. Will be used on elk. I shoot about 66lbs and 28.5" draw.
How heavy was too heavy? I am looking at about 490 grains.I've tried the rampages and they worked fine, the setup ended up heavier than I like so I went to carnivores. Both arrows shoot great, very consistent. The last elk I shot didn't know the difference, blew right thru it.
What is your arrow weight? What bow are you shooting?I shoot the Black Eagle Rampage and love them. 70# 28.5 300 fps.
Bowtech Solution. 425 grains but can’t remember for sure. 303fps on the sight tape. What is your arrow weight? What bow are you shooting?
I have used victory VAP in the past and thought about going to the TKO model. What broadhead are you using?Take a look at the VAP tko. Those are what I shot and boy, they zip. 460gr arrow and sunk to the fletchings on a 20 yard frontal. 66lb and same draw length as you.
Magnus blackhornet. They were NASTYI have used victory VAP in the past and thought about going to the TKO model. What broadhead are you using?
the carnivores come out to 462 all done but I am using a 50gr brass insert. How heavy was too heavy? I am looking at about 490 grains.
Best piece of advice and use hot meltDo yourself a favor with any of the 4/5mm arrows, and get titanium inserts. You will save money in the long run, unless you lose arrows. The titanium doesn't bend, and you'll make your arrows last. Save more money in the long run
Black Eagle actually recommends not using hot melt on their arrows.Best piece of advice and use hot melt
that arrow setup is may be close to the highest FOC, that a person could get. I'm a believer in FOC. You have a solid broadhead on the front, and that setup will kill elk. I wasn't shooting VAP/RIP TKO's, I would be using the X-Impact. But I would be using a titanium outsert. Bent too many aluminum outserts, and the titanium saves me money long term.Black Eagle actually recommends not using hot melt on their arrows.
Another worthy arrow to look at from Black Eagle is the X-Impact. I run them with their 60 grain outsert and a 125 grain Annihilator XL broadhead. Arrows come in around 535 grn. Shooting out of a PSE EVO 35 at 29.5 inch draw and 70lbs. Had no issues making a full pass on a bull at 74 yards. Gonna run the same setup through my new Darton.
