Greetings,
I drew the southwest desert LE muzzy elk tag. Haven’t spent much time in this unit before the rut and would love to find some places to take inventory of bulls. I do know most bulls migrate in during the muzzleloader season, but I’d love to go see what I can. Any insight would be helpful.

Also, any pictures from past hunters would be appreciated

Here are a couple of bulls from my SWD archery hunt. The hard horn bull is the bull I killed on the hunt 2 days after this trail cam pict was taken. I was after the velvet bull, but I never saw hime during season. The archery hunt was tough, but I'd think the muzzy hunt would be the best as more and more bulls come into the unit from NV.

Agreed. The other thing is you DON"T drive through any of the mud located in the bottom of Hamblin Valley. That mud will eat your truck and leave you sitting there waiting for a buddy.
Between that and flash floods. No issues with tires

The flash floods in that country can make the hunt extremely difficult. There was a lot of road damage when I was there. As for tires, I didn't have any issues, but I always ride my quad around for hunting and just drive my truck to get to camp. The other issue I found there is that many of the smaller two tracks that are for quads and SxS can be scary. I almost rolled my quad.
