"Graffiti" in Nature

Saw a picture in another thread of a rock face where someone's name was carved with the date of 1925. Wondering what is the oldest date you have found carved on something in nature. (I'm not condoning doing this)

The oldest I've found was in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota. The date was in the early 1700's. Not sure why I didn't take a picture.
 
1700's in Minnesota? That is crazy. Was it written in English or French? I saw a train car roll by with "Milli Vanilli" painted on the side. That must have been pretty old.
I want to say it was 1728. The Voyagers and Hudson Bay Company used to trap that area because it was easy access from Lake Superior. There are lots of ancient indian petroglyphs too.
 
Not sure who this guy was, but he apparently visited Utah a long time ago...

I've Seen Some Late 1800's In Quake Tree's On The South Slope!

Most Of Them Are Gone Now Because The Quakes Are Dieing!

This Aspen Art is found all over Central & Southern Utah.
He also did a horse head that is verry good.
