If you have followed my hunt adventures post, I just updated it with a full breakdown of my hunts this year. But figured I would post here as well for my dad's bull.
70 years old and on his first archery (crossbow) hunt.
We was able to get him a bull late into the hunt.
He made a really "good" not so great shot that killed the bull quickly. Lol. Never underestimate how fast they can die from an artery hit, especially with a bow.
Here is a screen shot off the video of him shooting the bull.
Because I knew the shot was back, and neither of us had seen the bull go down, I felt it was best to leave and come back first thing in the morning, my only hope for a quick recovery in the morning was hoping he had got the artery in the top of the back, and luckily that is exactly what happened we got back in the morning and the bull was laying 160 yards away in the sage, we had just missed seeing him go down with all the cows that was around him.
We had quite the crew for the recovery as my sister, wife and kids were all able to come help. It made for a very fun morning.
If you want a more detailed accounting of the hunt go check out my hunt adventures post.
