Over the past couple of weeks, I have been just sick about the plight of the Wyoming Resident! Talk about someone who has just been taken advantage of over the last 50 years!
They can't draw a Once in a Lifetime tag because of all of the non-residents putting in for 20 years and building up thousands of dollars worth of bonus points are taking too many of "Their" tags.
They can't pickup a brown antler shed before one of those pesky non-residents jumps out of there truck and runs long leggedly to scoop them up and sell them for $60,000 (probably using that money to buy more bonus points!?)
I am so glad that Wyoming is well into the process of Protecting Wyomians rights to shed hunt and get first dibs by extending them a 3-day shed hunting head start. I know that sounds like an insult to have to give someone a headstart... but they do need a lift up and not a put down.
I am so glad that the legislature in Wyoming is jumping in and protecting "Their" rights. Thank goodness for legal activists! I am sure that will never be used against them or us, I guess really just them. Definitely we need more laws on the books.
At this point I think it might be a good idea to give them a week head start on all hunts just so that they aren't taken advantage of by those darn long range shooting non-residents and that we don't encroach on their rights as "Wyoming Residents"!
This post has been therapeutic in nature. Reaffirming that Wyoming residents will make it through this tough plight. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger my Wyoming "Friends". May you all draw a moose tag this year and pick up a 90" brownie!
