train travel is highly underrated in the country.I rode this thing. I’m not sure I have any good pictures though because there is a bar in every car I know I missed the turkeys and coues buck.

C.A.M.P.Ok, been busy and finally got around to some downloads. Here’s the DOW doing their wildlife harassment counts in my ‘hood. They ran pretty much everything out of the country. At least I hope it was the fish cops. View attachment 99641View attachment 99642View attachment 99643View attachment 99644View attachment 99645
I was down your way yesterday, there has been more than a few elk crossing back and forth on the highway just east of Dove Creek, makes for some dangerous conditions. That Semi that is crashed off the side of the road looks like that was quite a ride.Got a herd of a couple hunnert elk down the road. I try not to bother them but there’s a steady stream of cars driving by to watch them paw the snow. More snow on the way.View attachment 99997
Way too many of these truck drivers are a menace on the icy roads, and people end up dead. EVERY YEAR.I was down your way yesterday, there has been more than a few elk crossing back and forth on the highway just east of Dove Creek, makes for some dangerous conditions. That Semi that is crashed off the side of the road looks like that was quite a ride.
Excellent pic
Competition for second cycle does can be fierce! Very rare to witness a knock-down dragout fight between muley bucks, and even rarer to have a camera when it happens! Cool stuff.Bonus 10 sec video of above fight. My apologies if the sound comes thru - like I said, had to run

Ok, since you asked nicely. And only about 5 people come here.Competition for second cycle does can be fierce! Very rare to witness a knock-down dragout fight between muley bucks, and even rarer to have a camera when it happens! Cool stuff.
Kinda disappointed the sound was off though...
Now that is a special sunset.
For some reason the colorful sunrises are much more common than sunsets here. It’s the opposite at the cabin. I suppose it’s the mountains. Here’s a sunrise from the other day.Now that is a special sunset.
That looks like Mingus from the top of House Mtn?

Do you see these very often notdon?
Ah, now I know where. I was thinking it might be a little sporty getting to the top of House Mtn right now.Yes, pic from I17.

He was at my parents house, my mom said he has been around for a couple week's.Do you see these very often notdon?
I didn't know they weren't super common everywhere in Utah. They're all over the place up north, I've used pellet guns to shoot dozens while they were banging holes in our stucco and even on the copper chimney cap over the years.I used to see one every few years, in the spring. Last year about 20 of them showed up and stayed around for about 10 days. I think they’re fun to watch. I would not want to get whacked in the forehead with that beak.
That’s a Flicker. Like Griz said, they tear the hell out of things. A fake owl will keep them away.He was at my parents house, my mom said he has been around for a couple week's.
Interesting to watch them wood peckers they must have glue or some kind of stickum on their feet.
What is the name of that one blue. My Ornithology is lacking. That’s a Flicker. Like Griz said, they tear the hell out of things. A fake owl will keep them away.
I’m glad we broadened into birds. That’s the only thing left here in siberia.View attachment 101243
The one in my pic is a Spotted Towhee. We usually get one every winter, but this year we have several. It’s a hard winter this year around here for the birds. What is the name of that one blue. My Ornithology is lacking.
Thanks, it was one of the most spectacular sunrises I've seen. Here is a nine shot panorama of the same sunrise.Beautiful!
