My hunting buddy drew this tag 24 points we are headed out from the silver state any help/starting points would be a great Been doing hours of e scouting so hopefully that and some early weather pays off

Eeehhh, I’m not sure that’s good, blanket advice…. There’s a lot of variables to consider. There are still giant bucks on that mountain, and it’s a mid November season. With some decent weather you could kill the buck of a lifetime. Good luck!
 
I would consider covering lots of ground and figuring out access. There are very few scattered deer in the unit this time of year. It may be the same in November depending on snow depth. If all the stars align it could be a great hunt but snow and cold definitely help on that hunt.
 
Make sure you have an ATV.
Don’t settle. Hold out for the big one, because the hunt can get better every day. There’s always some huge deer in that unit, but you can’t be shooting 180 bucks if you want a once-in-a-lifetime caliber buck.
Cover lots of ground, hunt all day every day.
Don’t be afraid to hike into some spots a mile or so off the roads. Many aspen pockets to hike into and look at.
 
The dark timber off the south of hardscrabble mtn. You cant see into it but if you watch that north side of the road/creek it opens up a lot and those bucks move across out from the timber onto Hardscrabble. The powerline road down to sylvan lake is where big bucks move through too. Its timbered so they just pick their way through until they are on Hardscrabble. Hunt those cuts and shoots to find one poking his head out.
 
Had the 4th season tag a few years back, great info on post above, We had weather snow 14-16" on top of hardscrabble, right at the end of 3rd season. and the deer came out of the woods heading to hardscrabble.. crazy tracks everywhere. The first couple of days were Awesome saw lots of deer, but as the week went on the snow melted and deer were not as visible. It was an Awesome hunt with just the anticipation that a GIANT could be around the next corner at any moment. The rut was in full swing when we were hunting, just remember the deer population is not very high and you are lookin really for a needle in a haystack the unit is very timbered and thick!! Historically the genetics are there just need to get a little Lucky!! Good Luck!!
 
Keep in mind that the earlier seasons are otc elk so lots and lots of hunters off roads and 2 tracks! Deep snow makes it tougher access and deer migration but most years don’t expect much. Those smart older bucks definitely know what’s going on even with the rut.
 
thanks to all you guys that sent us info "big moose" made our hunt happen ! it was vey cold and hardscrabble road is a tuff one
