Book Cliffs Deer North

Both my wife and I have tags this year...she also has a Nevada 231 Bull tag (she's kinda lucky). We're looking at starting on the state line adjacent to the Colorado 21 unit. I expect to find less pressure than the north/south border, fewer deer but expect the possibility of glassing up some better bucks if we put in the time. I grew up in Dutch John on the Gorge but never spent time in the Book Cliffs. Anyone willing to collaborate on that theory. Any insight would be appreciated.

I think your plan sounds pretty good. I don't want you to have to share your exact plans, but from your general description, you'll find bucks. Cover lots of ground, take plenty of gas and get on some glassing points into canyons with no road access... I hope you see bucks everywhere. Keep your expectations high.

Thank you I appreciate the response!
We spend a ton of time behind the glass - pretty much much sun up to sun down. We've been fairly successful in Colorado the last few years and will be holding out till the end for something special. We anticipate the season will be at its best the last couple of days. Thanks again!

That sounds boring glassing all the time…

He didn't say it was from the same spot either... The Book Cliffs can give you just about whatever you want to do to hunt.
Drive and glass
Hike and glass
Spot and Stalk
Shoot from a road
Shoot cross canyon
You can trip over a trophy at anytime ?
Lighten up Francis. He did say glass sun up to sundown which equals ?

Just a quick update on out Book Cliffs hunt.
Couldn't ask for better weather....experienced some snowy mornings which got some deer moving. Held out as long as we could & ended up with two decent bucks! We appreciate the help and insight manybof provided!! Thank
