Getting ready for second rifle

Got some scouting in last week. Found a couple of good bulls - however I assume a lot can change between now and the end of October. Or do bulls tend to stay in the same canyons in this region if not pushed out - since there is no migration?

You wont find many bulls in the same place by the second rifle season other than rag horns that are with the cows still. There are going to move to the rougher country where they aren't bothered

This is ?! It’s all going to depend on the kind of bull you’re looking to kill. I’m a huge fan of 36. It is some of the most rugged country there is to offer, you know this Scott, it’s as brutal as it is breathtaking. I’ve got to experience some of the BEST hunts I’ve ever been on in this unit, I’ll be the first to say this unit is not known for its monsters. I’m not saying they’re not there , I’m just saying the experience of the hunts here are far better than the trophy quality. I’ve seen some big bulls but they were deep in the wilderness and were res bulls who’ve been given time to age . Muleman is spot on , the bigger bulls will have retreated into some of the gnarliest terrain in the unit . If you’re looking for a 320” type bull it’s more than likely going be in that nasty stuff.

Congrats.
That’s about the average bull in 36 these days. Ever since the Little Bear fire that opened so much of the forest up and guys shooting across canyons those once big, heavy, gnarly bulls seem to have been shot out.
