Please post your pics from back in the day. These are always cool.

This is a picture that was printed in Northern Nevada Outdoors (year unknown). The building is a freezer warehouse. The bucks are frozen solid, and do not appear to be field dressed (why???). They are amazing bucks though.

Double WOW those are some huge bucks.

If they were all standing there, which one would you shoot? Number 2 appears to be the widest and has nice deep forks, but number 3's mass and height would be tough to pass up, and then there are the cool extra points on number 4. It's tough.
 
Pretty cool all frozen like that...

I'd have to say that #2 looks like it's be my choice, then #3, then #4, then #1... Of course- when a 35" 4x4 is the least desirable of the bunch- well, you can't really call it losing if you accidentally shoot him...

I remember as a kid looking at that picture in Colorado's biggest bucks and bulls, that thing is a giant

if i remember right those deer were at a horse slaughter packing plant.
it was said that they are probably the 4 biggest whole body bucks in one photo
 
BTW, this buck became famous when Kirt Darner passed
of this trophy as one of his and was prominently displayed
on the cover of his first book " How to Find Giant Bucks ".
It however would be his undoing and would lead eventually
to his downfall and disgrace.

It is a shame that he has that little drop tine below his eye guard. It just kills his typical score (LOL).
 
Think of all the monsters that were taken before everyone had cameras. My hunting buddy and I have wondered what it was like in the indians days.

Hey El...(another view)...one of my all-time favorites,too...(newspaper clipping from 1965)...for a mass 'n trash buck just an awesome- looking hog of a buck, 16 x 13 w/41-1/2" spread!

My Dad and he and his buddies bucks from Area 6 (Coyote Creek) out of Carlin, NV(1970). In the 60-70's there were no roads except into the very bottom, and we had some great hunts and camps by horseback. With the advent of ATV's and mining exploration, there are roads clear up to the very ridgetops today. You might see a dozen or so deer during the hunt when we would see a hundred or more in a days hunting. Good ol' days!
The biggest was 29-1/2" 5x4:

Awesome buck. Love the mass, width, and extras
on that rack. I especially love how the cheaters
flare out on both sides of the rack.

ELDORADO
 
Check out this beast. This buck was taken by Clifton Fauria in Nye County, Nevada in 1955. This buck scores an unbelievable 325 B&C points. Enjoy!

Here's another California giant. I took this pic several
years ago at a CDA fund raiser. The buck was taken in
1940 and scores an incredible 306 B&C points. Enjoy!

Here's a field photo of another California mega buck.
This buck was taken by Artie McGram in Shasta County
in 1987. The buck scores an incredible 310 B&C points.

Im going to take a wild guess and say the Lew Hatfield was the hunter.

I don’t know Lew Hatfield, neither do y’all. I can see his name, same as you. I was attempting to communicate that I was posting a oldies picture but notify the viewer it was not a picture of someone I knew…… weird, I know, but it suits me.

Back story. He wasn’t from this area, according to the older timers here. Some thought California. I asked RELH if he was family, he said, possibly but didn’t know him either. Maybe a distant relative. This is not the only monster muley Lew Hatfield shot west of Richfield, he shows up in other big buck contest photos, from over 60 years ago. He was clearly a skilled big buck killer. Now……. y’all know as much as I know about Lew Hatfield.
