This hunt has been over for a few days and I have put off writing a summary about it and sharing pictures because in my mind that would truly mean it was over. I got lucky and drew a desert sheep tag at the Western Hunting expo this year. I found out that I drew in February, and since then it has been hard to think about anything other than Desert Sheep. To have the hunt be over this fast is kind of bitter sweet. In 2017 my dad drew a desert sheep tag. That experience was awesome and it was the best hunt I had ever been on to this point. I’m happy to say my hunt was just as good.
Spending time in the desert with my dad looking at sheep was amazing. We spent time scouting on two separate occasions and always saw sheep. The country was beautiful and there is just something about sheep that gets in your blood. We saw lots of sheep and a few good rams but I wanted something special. On day two of the hunt we were able to turn up this ram. I knew he was to good to pass up! He is at least 9.5 years old and he has the look that I love.
I made one good shot and the hunt was over. Luckily I have lots of pictures, video and a great ram to look to help bring back all the
memories.
A big thanks to everyone that helped out on this hunt. You know who you are!
