Buddy found him a couple days ago in an OTC elk unit, waiting for it to cool off so he doesn’t have to fight a hive of yellow jackets, not sure what killed him but super cool buck with loads of character

Very cool. Looks like the tips have been chewed on- wonder if the velvet attracted critters. Or maybe it's just the velvet coming off that I'm looking at.
 
Looks like they have been chewed on for sure, especially the rear left side that has a bunch of cool kickers on it

A great buck no doubt- What are the rules pertaining to deadheads in Colorado? Will he get to keep it? I know rules are different in every state. Hope he gets it!
 
As far as I’m aware in Co as long as it is legal “shed hunting” season as in May 1- Dec31 of that year you are good to go. Never heard otherwise
