Please share pics of some unit 66 bulls to get the blood pumping!
My brother and I both had 17 NR points this year. After a successful 3rd season elk hunt in 66 last year for my son-in-law, we decided to burn our points for a hunt that took 16 NR points to draw last year. We decided that he would apply this year and me next. Due to others deciding to cash in their points as well, he actually did not draw in the initial draw but was offered the tag due to someone turning their tag back in, lucky break for sure! We are super excited for this hunt and know exactly where we're going. Just counting the days!!! Pictures coming soon!!!

That’s crazy it’s taking that many points to draw that tag. Especially when there is a several hundred hunters w tags hunting at the same time.

So insane that unit takes 17 pp but you can just hunt 1st rifle with 3. It’s getting way over rated just like 49. No more sleeper half decent units in CO anymore. Well actually there’s one left that doesn’t get pumped, but I’ll wait till I’m an influencer before I talk about it ??

Whatever you do don’t post how great it is all over the internet if you ever want to hunt 2nd or 3rd season again.

You guys are funny. Why criticize a guy for making his own decisions and using his own brain. I mean thanks for your opinions but I definitely did not ask if 66 muzzy hunt was worth 17 NR points or not, I asked for pictures. I just wanted to see pictures of bull elk harvested in Colorado to get the blood pumping. Don't worry y'all, we understand exactly what kind of hunt we are getting in to and what type of bulls we may or may not be lucky enough to find.

Not trying to be funny just trying to help someone out! (Im sure you did some homework but 32 years of points is alot) That being said I'm sure you will have a good hunt, good luck.

What type of bulls are you expecting? Just curious, never hunted 66 for elk only deer.

He is looking to harvest a decent 6 point bull. Nothing more than a good elk hunting experience and a chance at a 310" class bull. That's all, the hunt is what matters and we believe we found a good spot with a decent amount of elk to provide some bugles and rut activity and in turn a fun hunt.

Seems pretty reasonable to me, you can find that in just about any unit in the state, the 310 part is easier in some units than others, good luck

Hopefully you’re not expecting to find them in Muzzy where you found them in 3rd rifle. 17 points absolutely seems absurd to hunt Elk here but just the game these days.

Here's a bull from 66. I was deer hunting and didn't have an elk tag. Good luck!

Word on the street is they put down a 360" 5x5 and a 387" 8x6. Drifted off into the New Mexico sunset never to be heard of again.
Seriously or kidding? I'd like to know how they did. I am sure you're kidding after re-reading your comment. :)

Re-read his first post. Only his brother had a tag for this year. With this years experience to go on, they can determine if he should put in next year.

Hope they got a nice bull
