My hunting partner got the call this morning say he drew the super hunt deer tag. Not looking for honey holes but open to suggestions on units to check out. Thanks.
Lol then why in the hell did he apply? Karma willIt can be a curse! A friend's Dad drew the Super Combo several years back. Since he already had a couple 380 bulls mounted, that was bottom of the list. Hunted in 45 for deer, and never saw any big non-typical. Tried a day or two for antelope, but they don't excite him at all. Our schedules never connected for moose, so he didn't even go!! He was at the "work all week, make money while you can" stage and hunting is not a priority with him.

get him in the end on his death bed, he won’t be wishing he worked more.
i will say if i ever draw one. no one in the world will know i have it but me. they are pressure enough all by them selvesI think for the average guy these tags are a curse...just the deer and elk ones. The moose and antelope ones would be okay.
I hear ya...couple years back I had the opportunity to get any deer, elk, antelope, bear or moose tag in the State of Idaho. Only person I told was Zeke...needed someone to bounce my thoughts off of and didn't want to muddy the waters with more than one extra opinion. Kept my mouth shut otherwise till after the hunt.i will say if i ever draw one. no one in the world will know i have it but me. they are pressure enough all by them selves

That’s awesome Man, I would have picked Moose too….. I think
I second this question, what happened to allow that opportunity?I don’t care what you shot but I am interested in how you were in a position to pick whatever tag you wanted?
3rdI second this question, what happened to allow that opportunity?
Correct...the controlled hunt with less than 5 tag requirement was not in place when I was chosen. I hunted in an area that only gave out 1 tag. We actually had 3 moose hunters in camp...the regular tag holder, a super hunt tag holder and me.The Disabled Veterans Special Big Game Tag Program allows a qualified organization to apply for a special big game hunt tag on behalf of a disabled veteran. A qualified organization is defined as a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) or 501(c)(19) nonprofit organization, or a government agency, with a mission to afford opportunities, experiences and assistance to disabled veterans. The program is not limited to organizations in Idaho.
New law and rules are in place for these tags. Idaho Fish and Game makes five tags available each year. Tags are eligible for any hunt for deer, elk, pronghorn, moose, black bear or mountain lion except controlled hunts with less than 5 tags are not eligible. Participants are exempt from licensing requirements and the tag is free. The tag is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Correct Hoby is the absolute best outfitter I've ever met. I called him just to get some basic info on the area and he offered to guide me for free and arranged a guy to film my hunt...first class guy!!!My guess Deadline Outfitters..
