Post them up!

There's been a thread floating around social media that says something like " Post a picture of a hunt that you'll remember when you're 90". I am fortunate enough to have way to many great hunting memories to post just one, so here's just a few. Hopefully there's many more to come.

I’m not expecting to make it to 90, but if I do I think I’ll remember them all. This one for sure. Hunting this buck was hard and not all fun, sort of like running a marathon.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s my last 200”+ buck. Opportunity is drying up.

The ones that are hardest earned definitely tend to leave us with the best memories.

First high country buck. 11k feet. Found him a couple weeks before season opened. Watched him for many hours through the glass. Opening morning stalk put me about 10 yards away from him- I was on top of large boulder that he was in the shade of! Wind shifted and he shot out of bed like a bullet right at my feet. He got out about 75 yards before I got a little bit of an angle to put a bullet in vitals. Amazing camping, scouting, hunting experience. All solo. I learned that I can do that!

Sounds like an incredible hunt.

Antler hunts of 2022: Restricted now from a start date of May 1st each year, and requiring a "shed antler hunting certificate". I used to enjoy winter and early spring outings. I used to find as many as 100- not so much any more, but still a fun "hunt". By June, weather hot and dry, "brownies" starting to bleach out. I'm done!
