My wife and I found this buck scouting before the archery season here in Oregon. He had a softball sized growth hanging from his neck and left cheek. I tried a stalk on him opening day but a herd of elk ran through his bedding area and buggered him up. My hunting buddy got to 70 yards on him on day 4 but the wind got him. This is not a trophy area and he was the best buck on this hillside. Would you shoot him?

Some of the deer around here have those, but they are more like tennis ball sized. Someone said what they are, but I forgot. Said they wouldn’t harm the meat.

But nope, not for me.
