How’s the Horn growth looking up there. My son has the early rifle tag. We’ve been up 5 times looking but the smoke has made glassing very far hard. Finally heard our first elk bugles last Monday. I’ve got a few cameras out and just have some small bulls, deer and some Moose on them. We’ve got a starting point for the opener but are open to any suggestions. Thanks for any help offered.

Isn't it strange that people complain about killing too many spikes on these LE units, yet we see hundreds of trail cam pics of young raghorn bulls everywhere, every year?
The focus should be on top end bulls, not the bottom.

Be patient, get off the roads, hunt midweek, there are still some great bulls on the snatch.

Had the archery tag this year. Killed on my second day hunting. Bigwiffy is right on the money, some great bulls still up there.

Walking up on him for the first time

One of the two trips out. Was lucky enough to have brothers up there with me. Which in my opinion is what it’s all about.

Got him home, the meat taken care of, and boiled the skull. Overall, super happy with the hunt.

They are rutting like crazy up there right now. A lot of small bulls but some occasional decent ones. Slim to none on monster bulls.

I went out Thursday and Friday on the Wasatch for muzzy deer and wished I had a muzzy elk tag this year bulls are rutting hard II could have easily shot a couple big bulls
