I got lucky and drew muzzleloader deer on Elk Ridge this year. I’m going to be making my first scouting trip down next weekend with 2-3 more before the hunt starts. Anyone want to share any pictures, from this year or past hunts, to give me an idea of the type of bucks I might see? Help me keep the excitement up for this thing :)

Good luck and lock up your trail cameras good... got a couple guys smashing cameras down here on the unit.
 
I drew the same tag for Rifle. Already been down looking once and the deer seem to be in good shape. Should be a fun hunt.
 
Made it down this last weekend. Spent about 40 hours on the unit, learned some country, and saw a couple of nice bucks. I agree, Ruddy, should be a fun hunt! Already looking forward to going back down in a couple weeks and checking out the other half of the unit!

Wow that a great buck, Congrats tell us how the hunt unfolded.

I don't want to hijack this thread with my hunt, but I did post about my hunt on MM. Its 4 years old, but if you did a search I'm sure you could find it.
 
I have the rifle tag and would love to hear a report as well. If we make it back down before your hunts start I will let you know what we see.
 
Made it down for scouting trip number two this last weekend. Saw a couple good ones who survived the first week of the archery hunt. Nothing huge, but some pretty bucks. I’m taking the Labor Day weekend off from scouting, then I will be back for the next two weekends and the five days before my hunt. I’ll be interested to see if and/or where the bucks move in the next month.

I tagged out last night on a buck that probably goes about 165. If I get a chance tomorrow I’ll make a new post and post some pics.
 
A 165"ER on SJ Might Be a Trophy This Year!

Last Year Was The Best I've Seen it in Many Years!

This Year was Tough to even See a decent Buck after the StickFlippers & Money Boys Took Their Turn Early!
 
Dude, a 165" 2x4 ..? That thing is a beast. Heavy all around, and as cool a character as you'll ever get in a muley. That young lady's smile says it all. Congrats.!!
