Nevada Unit 7 Deer

Those deer migrate into the Pequop mtns. Your late tag I would definitely check those out. I drew the early tag in 07, did not find a buck I wanted to tag. The last weekend of my hunt a lot of deer turned up in antelope peak that were not there 2 weeks before. With your late tag I’m sure there will be deer there, check that area out also. They move from there to the Pequop mtns to winter.

Thank you so much! I have a buddy who lives in Idaho who has hunted the Jarbidge 3 times. Once for deer and twice for cow elk. I think we are going to start there to get away from most others as my buddy is a back country nut. I’ll be looking for a mature deer as well. I’m guessing the migration depends on snow? I’m from SD, so this will be a much different hunt than I’m used to in SD and MT.

I got lucky and drew the early 7 two years in a row in 2017 and 2018. You should have a fun hunt and see lots of deer. In my experience, the deer will be headed east from the Hwy 93 corridor toward the Pequops during your hunt. You'll find them somewhere in between for sure. There are also some pretty decent resident deer in the Pequop area. ------SS
