Wondering if you guys have any experience with these and what you think about them? My family and I spend quite a bit of time in grizz country. We saw a grizz last weekend and there were tracks right by camp. It got me wondering if I should buy a fence. Have you used them, what do you think?

I bought the UDAP fence for a moose hunt this fall in southern Alaska. I'm told by a friend that has hunted this unit that we will see brown bears almost every day. I'm happy to give you a report on my one and only 11 day experience with it when I get home around the 20th of September. Having said that, you sure don't find much/any negative feedback on them. Don't know if they simply work that great or if encounters are just that rare anyway?

For those folks that think they don't work...please don't tell me. Big bears already make me a little nervous.....haha.

Yeah I’ve used one fair amount up here in AK, mostly to protect rafts etc while away. They work great. Not necessary for around camp etc. very rare for a grizzly to come into your camp even where they are thick. But If it gives you piece of mind get one...

I wouldn’t rely on the guys who use them occasionally. But I know several guides who use them religiously so they must work.
Biggest think I had to remember was how to turn it off to get out.
I won’t mention a name but I know a guy who got a little to close.?
Billy Molls is a stud! I really like his shows
He is definitely a guy who’s experience you can count on.

Why would you turn it off to get out? They are made to step over. Or are you 4 ft tall?

He'd of Taken ss's Picnic Basket & ss woulda Never Seen Him!

They work and are used by virtually all guides for remote camps in grizzly country in Alaska. I use mine near yellowstone, where in reality the bigger problem is black bears. I have had them up for a month at a time around camp without bear issues. Previously, without using the UDAP fence, I would get something chewed on every couple weeks. Generally just a container or something plastic, but I prefer my camp to be left alone, whether I am in it or not!

After having a Brown Bear wake me up sniffing my face in the middle of
the night, I highly recommend the fence.
Dood.....I had a coatimundi try to get in my bag with me once and a black bear filling up the entire beam of a mini-mag, but you have balls of steel.
