Wait until the big environmental groups start showing up and telling you how to live with wolves. Just a reminder, these folks have been seasoned up here in Idaho,be mindful they all carry tape recorders and love taking pictures of people who resist.
 
I just can’t believe with the vote so close they can’t table it for later. Hope you guys stop it.
 
The man who ran Wolf Reintroduction in Idaho was Ed Bangs, he was from Colorado. He has always wanted Wolves in Colorado. The Governor of Colorado doesn’t want MS- 13 gang members on the front range, but he wants to dump Wolves on the western front in your back yard. There is really no difference between the two. Oh it’s coming, the hearings, the radical environmentalists telling you how to live with Wolves, the threats if you kill a wolf your going to prison, the hatred between the Wolf lovers and you. If I was one of you I would follow the money trail, this is where you will find corruption. Do not worry though they will not populate very fast, heck I can by 15 tags a year in Idaho now. Oh I forgot to tell you, your game management will also go downhill, because your conservation officers time will be all tied up with problem Wolves. Wait until you see the amount of money spent on problem Wolves and government hunters. They are the hardest, smartest animal in the forest to hunt, when pressured they can move 30 miles in one night. Defenders of Wildlife will be on hand to show you farmers and ranchers how to scare the Wolves off your property and on to your neighbors property so he can also have the same problem. You will have to keep stock close to the house or hire night riders, but you can’t shoot them because their protected. I’m truly surprised the good people of Boulder are not demanding that Wolves be put in Rocky Mt. National Park. Oh one more thing you will be getting problem Wolves, that were taken from another region.

Well after 2023 Colorado hunters can blame their lack of success on something else!
 
SS this movie Frozen, Wolves eat skiers. As far as how fast they will spread out across the state it depends on how many they dump out and where they put them. The first three years are going to be slow with Wolves trying to find a place they can live without being bothered by humans to much as they develop their packs. Once they realize that humans are no threat and they are not getting shot at, the packs will come in close contacts with communities, farms and ranchers. You will have the radicals and the Yellowstone photographers showing up, demanding that the state make Wolf Watching corridors along your Highways. The killing of Livestock starts happening, and as the packs grow and get bigger a lot more livestock will die. Dogs and Cats will start to go missing, the good people of Colorado are starting to get really pissed because there is nothing you can do. The radical environmentalists will have paid people living in these communities where their job is to protect those Wolves from threatining humans.Remember they carry tape recorders and cameras and they love getting in your face. The real problem lies when these packs develop to over 14 members, they chase and kill everything in their way and with no fear of humans. Now we are 12 to 14 years into reintroduction, hunters,ranchers,farmers,loggers and anyone else who hasn’t lost all common sense realizes that this can’t go on. The Government hunters at this time have already killed hundreds of problem wolves throughout the state, but you still can’t hunt them. Now the good people of Colorado will have to form a group of well spoken people and go after the legislators and congressman to push to get the Wolves off the Endangered Species list And a hunting season established. Now we’re about 16 years into reintroduction and the first Colorado hunting season is established, I’m guessing that the first year There will be between 200 to 250 Wolves killed the first year of a hunting season and that’s because Wolves aren’t afraid of humans. As years go by the Wolves get smart to human presence and become very hard to hunt. The yearling and 2 year old Wolves dont really like to lay up all day with the rest of the pack, so they get up and wonder and will drop into town for a little snack of some sort and will get into trouble. I’m not writing this in a negative way, my life was tied up in this in another state and I am telling you true facts of what happened and what will happen. I have spent a lot of time with Wolves throughout the years , they are the smartest animal by far in North America. The Wolf is the greatest recovery of any animal that’s ever been on the endangered species act.

I guess some folks don't have to truly rely upon the range for a livelihood. The impacts will go much much deeper that shared by hawkbill. This will stall the ability of people to develop what they legally own. Now people will be criminalized for progressing their properties as they see fit and planned prior to the wolf piece but MUST now adhere to new rules. Devaluation will continue. SMH at anyone or organization who believes wolf introduction is ok particularly when those supporting the canines have no skin in the game and will not suffer the loss forcing a change to customs and cultures. Westslopers and particularly the NW Colorado people will yet once again take it from the rear without even a considerate reach around.

The measure passed with specific requirements and now, as has been recently experienced with other ballot measures, our governor and government agencies want to fast track introduction contrary to what was passed with the ballot measure.
 
Didn't the east slopers vote to ban trapping beavers? Every voter is now a wildlife biologists? What is wrong with these people?

we've had wolves for decades in OR but they seem to keep getting lead poisoning . but their numbers are growing. yes CO will see negative effects but it will take a while.

Give them time and they will due serious damage there's no doubt about that. the plan is and has always been to replace hunters with wolves. the flaw in the plan I see is will the wolves foot the bill for all wildlife like hunters have ?

I love the wolves. Can now get 3 elk tags here in Montana so I don’t really buy the “sky is falling” crap. Herds seem to

adjust over time and it’s great to have a wolf tag in your pocket. They are very challenging and fun to hunt. Maybe some of you great white hunters should embrace the challenge.
 
You're a loooong ways away from an open season. the voters who voted to dump them on you didn't do it because they wanted to give you live targets.

We've had wolves in OR for a few decades , we didn't vote on it and our game and fish didn't want them. and we still can't shoot them. ( legally ).

Not saying that I agree with introducing wolves here in Colo but I've been to Alaska around 15 times and have yet to see a wolf. I think a lot of wolf lovers have the false notion that they can drive out in the hills and see them. In Colo it will likely be similar to mtn lions where most outdoor enthusiasts don't see a mtn lion in their lifetime. Wolves prefer areas without people....which Colo has a lot of but Colo also has vast areas where wolves likely won't inhabit. You would think Colo may have learned from the bear initiatives years ago? Bears are a total headache and nuisance now to the CPW and those that live in mountain communities. No spring hunting or dogs. If wolves are allowed to be hunted they obviously will be spookier around livestock and humans.

Obviously wolves don't just target wildlife for dinner. I'm sure Colo ranchers aren't tickled about the idea and will likely be a nightmare for them. My guess is that a large chunk of voters that live in Western Colo where the wolves will roam were totally against this proposition! It's too bad that they couldn't introduce wolves in the counties where the majority of voters were in favor of them (Denver, Boulder)!

In Alaska, they have virtually unlimited hunting on wolves. Even shoot them from helicopters to keep them in check. They are afraid of people there. In places like Yellowstone, they aren’t afraid of people. That will be the case in Colorado for lots of years.
 
You make a great point about Alaska vs Yellowstone. Are wolves in Yellowstone a common site where they aren’t hunted? I’m just curious?
