Not to change the subject of this thread, but I couldn't help but notice the cool old truck with a big ol set of Groundhogs on it. I used to run a set of 38s on my old Chevy shortbed.
Same here, I noticed the same thing. LolNot to change the subject of this thread, but I couldn't help but notice the cool old truck with a big ol set of Groundhogs on it. I used to run a set of 38s on my old Chevy shortbed.
Yes. I think it was in the first U.T.A.H. book that came out.Zwickey, was that velvet buck in one of Utah Bowhunting records book back in the late 80's? I believe it was...
She was the Arizona state champion for instinctive shooting for several years. She and my grandfather had an archery shop in Tucson.. They also had a television show demonstrating trick shooting.Dude, that is some cool stuff. Your grandmother was clearly crazy.
I can only imagine what it was like where your grandpa giuded. I don't know about lately, but that was a pretty good spot not too many years ago.
I have to ask, do you bowhunt?
Yeah . . . pretty sure me holding a target in front of my wife like that is never going to happen . . . cool pic though. She was the Arizona state champion for instinctive shooting for several years. I would like to start hunting archery but it's tough to get a tag here in Nevada for mule deer and the success rates are really low. I finally drew a rifle tag this year with four points but had to turn it back in because my kids hunts took priority. I would like to try some Arizona OTC archery next year.

you forgot one elkassassin.
Not one picture of one buck and crowd of people.
This right here is what really gets me! I can't stand the bullshit posse trend that's going on these days! Never been a part of one and hopefully never will!you forgot one elkassassin.

Well BLooD!Yep Elk!
You nailed the list purdy good!
Hard to get excited any more when a big buck hits the dirt!
Most of the time it is a flat brimmed, turret twisting, jacked up wrapped coal rollin’ rig, 40’ toy hauler, 3 sage brush shredding sidxsides, vaping behind the phone-scope glass, drinking the latest energy drink, wearing the most expensive, form-fitting useless apparel invented just to put a 20 inch 140” buck on the ground!
What does the twelve person posse do with it after that?!
Take turns hanging the rack in their crib every other month?!!!

Awesome pic! Big bucks, and a big buck killer.
When I was young I met these fine people, the man with the rifle is over 90 and he took me on my first out of state hunt in Montana in 1982 , May the Lord take a liken to Him !
Is that a lever action and open sights I see in the background?
Look at all that camo!
We were lucky to have experienced those days like that !This was my dads best archery buck for many years. Growing up that was one of the coolest trophies to admire in the house.

Thats way cool.I’m probably late to the game for this contest here but here’s my favorite hunting picture ever... it’s of my grandpa and great grandpa from somewhere around 1927-28. My grandpa is the kid on the left. He was born in 1922 and looks 5-6 years old to me though I don’t have the exact age or date. This giant bear was taken out of Wallsburg, Utah where my grandpa was raised. Hope you all enjoy it!

I'm glad you explained it is a bear. I was trying to figure out what it was and if it had antlers. Did he kill it with the sword he is holding? Super tuff.I’m probably late to the game for this contest here but here’s my favorite hunting picture ever... it’s of my grandpa and great grandpa from somewhere around 1927-28. That's awesome. Your timing could not have been better. My son is currently in the process of turning his bull and his muley buck from last year into euro mounts and he needs skull hangers. Thank you so much. You just made a kid very happy. What a great thread!!! Time to bring this contest to an end though. I agree with many others and the winner is:
JakeInLasVegas with this one ... HERE
He wins these awesome contest prizes;
Large European Skull Hanger and a Medium angle European Skull Hanger from Dead On Display
It's got to be really tough to take a desert buck with an old recurve! And throw him up on the back of that horse.
