It's a fun unit and an unreal hunting experience. It is also a tough draw...something like 14pp for a 50% chance at drawing with a special tag and 22% in the regular draw.

Edit: I should add those number are for a non res.

Yep that sums it up - unique fun hunt if you can draw hunt - cool to hunt bulls in the open terrain. But also have to be prepared to put on the miles.

Any luck yet? I struggled in the unit south of there a couple years ago. Hunted almost 3 weeks bow and rifle before I found elk. Bad water year, but it seemed like you really need to put in your time to find those bulls in the desert. Nice pics Bwht4x4!!

Hunting n middle of unit. We’ve seen over 500 head and of that 300+ bulls. Most are broken up pretty bad. Different type of hunting in sage brush really hard to get closer than 500 yds. Found 3 that we chased around , nothing yet. Pouring ran here now.

I had a 100 tag this year and to avoid all the broken antlers during the rifle hunt, I archery hunted the first week. I killed this unbroken bull on Sept 3. He was bedded all alone and he was in a spot that I was easily able to get to 40 yards and wait for him to stand.

That is a very nice 100 bull. Getting it done with a bow is something to really be proud of.

Congrats on the archery bull Bwht4x. Son got this guy on the third day of rifle season he looked over alot of bulls including a really nice 7 with broken main beam
