Quail Babies

Today, June 22nd, I saw my first covey of younguns. Early for here. Maybe the earliest I've seen in 30 years by at least a week.

Just hoping it translates to chukar. First year retired and plan on given them hell this year.

Looks like it’s been a pretty good hatch for Quail in my parts as well. Seeing a bunch of Pheasant chicks as well.
But very worried about the Chukar hatch though,
We had some very cold temps with hard rain and wind for a couple days in a row around the 10th of June, historically that’s pretty much the peak of the hatch in southern Idaho.
Damn! I lie awake at night worrying bout them lil ol Chukar birds!
