Buddy drew Boulder muzzy elk!

One of my coworkers found out a few weeks ago that he drew the boulder LE muzzy elk tag. He put in as a long shot and to his suprise drew it! Needless to say he is thrilled especially since it is an area he has never been and is excited to learn some new country! And suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated

One of the best elk tags in the state. My dad drew the muzzy tag in 2014 and I have been trying to draw it for many years until this year when I switched up units so I can actually hunt. My dad’s hunt was the most incredible elk hunt I have ever been on. Bugling and rutting frenzy with many large bulls. My dad killed his bull opening morning and we had 5-6 bulls screaming around us as we cut his up.
It is a huge unit and the west side is about as thick as you will find anywhere. Take a few scouting trips this summer and fall to look over the unit and get to know the roads, etc. My advice on the muzzy hunt is to chase bugles and slip in silently (leave the hoochie mama cow calls at home). You will eventually find the bull you want to kill with some effort.
